This version of Hound is one of the most complex (AKA fun) bots to transform that I own and is very cartoon accurate. Every joint on mine is tight and strong and he fits very well scale-wise both in bot mode and vehicle mode with other legends that I own. He is almost exactly the same size in both modes as my son's Hasbro legend/core class figure except he has great articulation, looks exactly like his G1 self and can hold accessories. Speaking of accessories, he comes with a lot of amazing add ons to make him super playable. His vehicle mode machine gun, his shoulder cannon and laser gun, the cage for Ravage and hologram beam are brilliant for recreating scenes and general play. The canvas topper piece is just the icing...on top... This is my favorite Hound figure I've owned or even seen both for size and transformation.

The action figure is fun to transform. The complexity is not too difficult.

Between the two, I bought the Magic Square's hound because robot mode is more important to me and also it was cheaper. If you can only afford one, then go with Magic Square. If you can afford both, then I definitely recommend both. The reason I bought this is because TFSafari has a sale and the price is just right for me to get it. I wanted an alt mode for MS Hound. With that out of the way, let me say I absolutely love the alt mode. It so small and cute and very well built. If you have ever owned a NA figure, then you know the paint, the plastic quality, the transformation are exceptional. While both are challenging to transform, I find that NA's transformation a little more fun. BTW, NA scale is a bit smaller than MS so take that into consideration if you are invested a lot in NA. For me, I just buy whatever looks best and scale is a minor concern. Anyway, I do not like the robot mode not because it's too small, but because its proportions are not to my liking. Compare to the MS, this one looks like a little kid. This is the only thing I don't like about this figure. I do love the accessories that came with it. The cage is great and the jeep back cover is a nice touch. If you are interested in this purchase and like me, you wanted to know if Autobot Spike part is included since it has been a while since it was released, then know that all first release version does. I don't think there is second release version on the market at this point. I hope they will sell Autobot Spike will be sold individually if others don't want to buy all these releases. Anyway, I am very happy with my purchase.
