This figure looks incredible. It’s easily my favorite version of the character. It’s wild how much better it turned out compared to the first‑party Hastak release, and it’s literally half the price of the Hasbro DNA version. The firetruck mode is fantastic, and both the robot mode and super mode look outstanding. This is a must‑buy whether you’re a TFA fan or not.

First up, the obviously mahoosive Zyuumammoth in the room: this KO box set grants you a superior & modified take on Legacy United Animated Optimus Prime and the DNA Design DK54 upgrade kit *FOR LESS THAN HALF THE TOTAL PRICE OF BOTH ACTUAL PRODUCTS!!* Okay?? Easy recommend there. Now...let's get into it.
Optimus himself, Baiwei cooked hard!! They ported the original 2008 toy's head and facemask gimmick. They also replaced the abdomen with a longer one to make him a little taller. The chest was remolded so the black parts can now fold away. They retooled the truck wheels so that one set can rotate forward (because there's no wheels under the gray section anymore). They added gap fillers in the legs. On the downside, some joints are a bit tighter than necessary, the lightbar is blue-blue instead of the proper red-blue, and the 5mm ports in the shoulders are now gone.
The add-on parts? Pretty nice. Wingblade Optimus Prime has a bit of a vibe where you can tell it's inspired by God Ginrai (DNA even has a remix of this kit that DOES make Optimus into Powermaster Optimus w/Apex Armor aka God Ginrai) and Cybertron Optimus Super Mode (big red wings and an underslung ladder gun that I prefer to mount on his back). Even the combined vehicle mode screams Cybertron Optimus moreso than God Ginrai. Buuuuuut...for those that would be bothered by it, there's multiple paint apps *missing* compared to the DNA kit. Silver should be on the blue gun barrels, a white stripe should be on the wings, black on the soles of the Super Mode feet, some missing black and silver detailing that's only really visible in vehicle mode, etc. This doesn't bug me, but for those who are sticklers for the details, this IS something you need to know and consider.
Again, I still heavily recommend this set if you don't have Legacy United Animated Optimus Prime and you still wanna get him.

the joints are tight, it has weight to it, the light piping is a great touch and the accessories are all great.
the fact that this costs less then the voyager TFA Prime is insane and genuinely well worth the money

Incredibly good figure, would recommend a lot to any transformers animated fan, the only 2 complaints is that I wish some colors where a little more accurate to the show and that it had a bit more accessories, but apart from that it has a great price with a lot of stuff in it and it's worth it.

May be a side grade option for some due to a few missing paint apps from the original figure and upgrade kit, but it's hard to argue with the value. The lengthened torso is a definitely upgrade, but the head lifted straight from an older toy is a mixed bag - the mask gimmick is fun, but the head can only rotate flat left and right, and it cannot be easily swapped for the original toy head due to engineering changes. Plastic quality is distinct from the original toy, a bit less gummy but not necessarily sturdier.
100% worth it if you missed the original or just can't swallow the current prices, but may be a different experience if you already own the original.

Figure is of excellent quality and incredible value for what is offered, my only gripe is with the box; I like to collect boxes that look nice, and unfortunately this figure’s was very ugly, with some sort of strange filter over everything that muddied the details. I hope with future releases they refrain from doing this.

The shining example of a bargain!
This figure takes the original voyager figure and the DNA upgrade kit, improves on it, and somehow costs as much as the original figure. Plastic quality is superb, joints are a bit more stiff to help with weight, and they even managed to add metal to some parts for stability. The improvements on the original figure don't impede on transformation or ruin the look once transformed. The head to me personally is better than if they included the original one, but I do wish they just used a masked version of the original. Overall this is a must have for all animated fans and even transformers fans in general.

Don't really know much about TF Animated. The only thing I know and have a figure for is the official Hasbro Motormaster redeco of OP that was on sale for $17 and people were praising it so much that I bought it. For that price, it's a pretty good figure. Then I saw this with all the add-on kit and I said I have to have it, especially for that price, because I like to have all the different versions of Optimus Prime. The plastic is pretty good on the figure, but on the add on kits and accessories, they are a little thin. When in hand with or without all his armors applied, he is solid. There are no parts flopping around. He looks really really good. I guess we can thank DNA Design for that. Articulation is pretty good. Transformation is simple, as far as I can tell. I put the leg armor on and could not get it out. The feet connecting to the leg just pops off and the feet is stuck to the armor piece. Thus, I didn't even get a chance to transform him and put him in alt mode. It is stuck in there really good and the plastic is so thin that I'm afraid I will break it if I use something to pry it out. I know I will probably put him in his armor mode most of the time, but I still want to have the option of transforming him into his alt mode once in a while. Don't be like me. Sand down the tab or make the hole slightly bigger before inserting the feet into the armor piece. Because of that, I deduct 1 star. Other than that, it's a great figure and definitely worth the money.

The Baiwei Toys Maintenance Team Leader is an excellent value figure that captures the look and feel of its Transformers Animated counterpart surprisingly well. The sculpt, proportions, and overall aesthetic are instantly recognizable, making it a satisfying stand-in for fans of the Animated style—especially at this price point.
Articulation and presence are solid for display, and the figure looks great alongside other Animated-inspired pieces. The transformation and design choices feel faithful enough that, at a glance, it absolutely delivers the character’s personality.
The only real concern is the thinness of the plastic in certain areas, which can feel a bit delicate in hand. That said, this is fairly typical for a KO figure in this price range and doesn’t significantly detract from the overall experience if handled with reasonable care.
Overall, it’s a strong budget-friendly option that offers impressive visual accuracy and shelf presence for the cost.
