Quite a sturdy figure, which allows for many dynamic poses. The only part I could even consider loose is the "backpack" which hides the head, and it's only loose relative to the rest of the figures tight joints, which there are many. The only true negative I have is that the chest's cassette deck will open up when returning the torso to its base position from an ab crunch. I find this to be a very minor complaint. The transformation has a very slim area for correct position of the legs locking in on the sides whereas everything else fits and moves about easily. I could say the batteries position is nonsensical but the proportions and engineering of this tiny figure being so high scoring I feel I could let this pass. It is necessary for the batteries to be there or the alternate mode cannot properly stand and while I find no fault in this I still feel it should be mentioned. The additional tapes, at this scale really indeterminate rectangles, have surprisingly satisfying transformations. Ravage is well proportioned and poseable, Laserbeak can't really do much but looks great perched on the arm via magnets, and Rumble can be posed quite well even though he is so tiny he falls over easily. The choice of colors pleases me, as I think the darker tone looks great with the highlighted details of the chest. Really pops. Overall a very good figure that is aesthetically pleasing, poseable, with a wonderful set of accessories/extras and few flaws.

This figure looks stunning. His pose-ability is amazing, and his cassettes are quite fun though a bit fiddly in certain places. There was an issue with shipping, but it was resent out after contacting customer support (which I'm very thankful for). Soundwave's joints are a bit squeaky and stiff but not too much to the point where it's very difficult to move, also even though he has interchangeable hands, they're very difficult to pop out and I'm a bit worried It'll break if I pull too hard. His paint is great and he's very faithful to the original G1 show. The cassettes are quite easy to transform though there were no instructions that came with them or soundwave, so I'll have to look up a video for soundwave (though I don't use instructions that much anyway). So far, I'm very happy with this figure and I'd recommend it to any soundwave fan (or any transformers fan in general). 7.5/10

It really is a great figure for the price and it came earlier than expected. Engaging transformation and a nice brick of an alt mode. What’s not to like?

All-in-all, this is a pretty nice figure, but it does suffer some of the QC shortcomings that can be a staple of KO items. Luckily, however, those things are largely limited to aesthetics such as misaligned fists and wonky panels - particularly in its alternate mode. Also of note, at least on my copy, is the fact that the joints are fairly tight and VERY squeaky. There were moments I was nervous about snapping something based on sound alone. However, for the price, this is a pretty outstanding figure. It’s fun to pose, fun to play with and it looks pretty darn cool. The cassette-cons are also great, even if they don’t look much like cassette tapes. A good buy!

Squeaky little guy! There were a couple of fiddly moves, but got him changed without much trouble. He's not big by any means; Combiner Wars Huffer is almost as tall as this. As long as you know you're getting a Soundwave that can be skipped across a lake, you'll love him! The cassettes(bricks?) also are a handful of mini delights.
