BMB Black Mamba LS-03F LS03F (KM01S/ KM-01S) Oversized arrived quickly as described. Packaging could have been better as my package was delivered by GOFO and arrived smashed.
The clamshell inside the Black Mamba box was cracked. I inspected the figure and thankfully it was not damaged.
Robot mode-
Out of the clamshell, LS-03F looks incredible with a dark style color scheme showcasing a figure worthy of Optimus Prime's battle-worn appearance from the Bay Transformers movie Dark of the Moon.
Paint details are sharp with excellent pinstriping and vibrant matte metallic colors. I particularly like the dark gunmetal grey used by Black Mamba.
Incredible head sculpt.
Black Mamba's new modified Dark of the Moon ab section is well designed too.
LS-03F articulates well and the plastic quality seems to be durable.
The small additions of die-cast metal are also nice.
Unfortunately, my copy of LS-03F has very weak legs and the right foot droops when picking the figure up in robot mode. The weak legs can make posing a challenge, but the figure can stand just fine when balanced.
I like the improved back design by Black Mamba, as well as the new shoulder pads and additional truck doors on the chest section.
I really would have liked it if Black Mamba narrowed the gap in the middle of the robot mode chest for a more screen accurate look.
Accessories-
LS-03F also includes a clamshell of nice accessories that can help reenact many of Optimus Prime's moments from the Dark of the Moon movie.
The huge shotgun has working LED lights.
For some reason, the energon blades have tabs that look like they plug into the hands; however, I could not find a way to make it work.
I didn't want to risk snapping the fingers on my figure.
*Caution should be used when manipulating the hands as the thumbs are prone to snapping.
Transformation-
The transformation, unfortunately, was not as enjoyable as I would have liked.
Revenge of the Fallen leader Optimus and MPM-4 Optimus have tedious transformations made worse by LS-03F's fitment issues.
Getting the truck hood sections untabbed from the ab section was difficult.
Also, untabbing the shoulders took an extreme amount of force.
Many of the tabs and tab slots are not the correct size, so my copy did not tab together properly in truck mode.
The robot arms that help form the truck hood would not tab together tightly, resulting in a gap down the middle of the truck hood.
Also, the windshield would not stay tabbed on the left side, and the air filters that are supposed to lock the sides of the truck hood droop down.
Truck mode-
LS-03F has some of the same problems that MPM-4 Optimus has in truck mode.
Hood pieces and the windshield won't fully tab.
The modification by Black Mamba to the truck air filters has them mounted on ball joints, and they just droop on either side of the truck hood instead of tabbing in.
The rear truck wheels on my copy are a bit loose as well.
I do like the scale of the truck mode, and the paint applications by Black Mamba look great.
The optional rear tires are a nice addition to have for truck mode and a separate look for a screen-accurate robot mode.
*Caution should be used when manipulating the hinge parts of the truck, particularly the sides of the truck and the section that becomes the backpack in robot mode. Those areas are prone to breaking, especially if pushed in the wrong direction. As a precaution, I put shock oil on the truck hinge sections to make them less tight.
Overall, LS-03F is a decent oversized version of Optimus Prime as he appeared in the Bay Dark of the Moon movie. I like the scale of LS-03F in both robot and truck mode.
Paint applications are great, and the plastic quality feels durable. While not perfect, with a bit of work on the tabs, plus tightening and loosening pieces, LS-03F can make a great addition to a Bay movie collection.

The shipping was as fast as could be expected from overseas and the figure arrived in good condition. It looks good and appears to be pretty good quality. Only problem was it was missing one of the canisters on the shoulder but besdies that it’s a great figure.

Figure looks stunning on a shelf, and the accessories add to it very nicely. But handling the figure is not fun at all. Mine is very lose, especially with the legs causing stability issues and certain tabs don’t lock it good at all.
Overall, if you can find a copy that has tighter joints and tabs that lock better I would recommend it. But my experience with it was less than ideal

HOWEVER, there is a defect on mine. Instead of a left and right joint for each side, I received two right joints. This is a joint located on his back where the toolbox is/the entire backpack assembly. Optimus cannot transform with these mismatched joints, and they must be replaced. I reached out to TF Safari for solutions.

A beastly prime in size, the small modifications Black Mamba did to the original LS-03 figure give it quite a different feel. First purchase via this site and didn't have any problems with it in the slightest. Figure is in pristine condition with some disturbingly snug joints. He does have a couple of minor irritations (his right shoulder is a really tight joint and likes to actually untransform him if I'm not careful, and his right ankle can be a little wobbly if I don't keep the grill plugged in under his foot), but that's something that varies by figure.
